Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

The department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1983. Presently, it offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) course in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with an annual intake capacity of 60. The syllabi of the B.E. course cover all major thrust areas in electronics and communication technology and also in the allied fields. The department has been always attracting quality students through the Common Entrance Examination conducted by Government of Assam. It has been always an endeavour for the teachers of this department to impart quality knowledge to the students such that as an engineer they can contribute accountably to the technological world as well as for the betterment of the society.

1): To impart quality education for producing skilled manpower in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering to cater for the need of the country and the society as a whole.

2): To encourage research and innovation in Electronics and Telecommunication with industry- academia interaction.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) :

1): To provide the theoretical knowledge and the practical experience of electronics and communication to make the students competent for pursuing a career in an industry or a research-and-development organization or higher studies.

2): To facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship as well as to generate awareness for creation of intellectual property.

3): To imbibe human values, team work and social and professional ethics for building a better environment and society.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

1): Students will be able to demonstrate software skills with competence to work and deliver in industry or research.

2): Students will be competent to design applications and automation by using modern engineering tools with multi-disciplinary concepts.


The department houses laboratory facilities to enrich the students with the basic and advanced laboratory understandings in electronics and communication as well as in allied fields. Some of the laboratories are Network Theory & analysis, Electronic devices, Digital electronics, Electronics circuit, Instrumentation & electronic measurement, Analog communication, Microprocessor, Digital communication, Analog system design, Microprocessor & embedded system, Microwave engineering, Digital system design. The primary objective of the department has been to develop hardware and software skills in the students such that they can consider various opportunities after completion of the undergraduate course.

The alumni of this department are contributing to the technological world as well as to the other areas by being across the globe. Enlisted below are some of the major organizations where our alumni got opportunity to contribute technically: Bhabha Atomic Research Center (Trombay), Hindustan Computers Ltd., Infosys Technologies Ltd., IBM,  Indian Air Force,  Oil India Ltd., Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, ORACLE, TCS, Wipro GE, etc.
